Camping Fun
Well we took a family camping trip to Cooper’s Creek. The boys will be starting school soon, so we decided to fit in our family trip. So we cleaned up the travel trailer–it is a 1974 popup that is still in great condition. We got a popup because it became difficult to get Jake in and out of a tent. In the popup, it is still like sleeping in a tent with the canvas pullouts. I debated on trying to do some letterboxing but the was solved for me because there weren’t any in the immediate area and the ones on the way would be too much trouble to get too with the van pulling the popup. So, I decided to pass this one time. We got everything together–my husband, Jake, Trey, his friend Andrew, groceries, clothes and me. We secured everything and headed down the road making a pitstop at Wally World to get the last few things. The campground is way back into the woods, no phone service, no amenities, nothing but woods and a creek. We found our spot, paid our fee and began setting up the camper. It was so hot and muggy, but we managed to get everything set up in time to play in the creek. Travis went fishing, the boys went wandering and Jake & I played in the creek.

We had a great time playing and chilling. At night we cooked out, sat around the fire and had fun.

We had the boys going with tales of bears. Of course we did make sure all food items were secured and out of reach for any bear that might have wandered into camp. Luckily the only critter that invaded our camp was a racoon who likes goldfish crackers.
The next day we spent relaxing–Travis fished and the boys and I played in the creek. Actually Jake and I fell asleep in the creek–it was so relaxing!

Alas, we have never been camping without it raining–I don’t care how many days we stay, it never fails. We were only camping for three days and BAM–it rained our last night. Just as we were about done grilling hamburgers, the bottom fell out. We all piled into the camper and ate by lantern light. The sound of rain on the camper was so soothing that we all went to bed early. Since everything was soaked, the next morning we packed up and headed home early. Even with the rain, we still had a great time.
