Shiny Teeth

Shiny Teeth

Well J-Bo’s visit to the dentist went great yesterday.  He did well under the sedation and everything checked out great.  His teeth are good, no cavities and all is looking shiny and healthy.  Now the journey to get there is a different story, one I am fighting a bad head cold/congestion thing that is making me drowsy and bluhhhh.  We left home around 6:30am arriving at 8:40am for a 9am appt. and didn’t get home till after 1pm.  I was wore out and he was still slightly sedated so we both crashed.  Today he is great and I am still bluhhhhh with an extra hhh.  One more try for medication and gradual healing.

Time to go crash before he gets home.

Blessing to everyone!!

So Far, So Good

So Far, So Good

Well it’s that time of year for J-Bo’s doctor visits.  We have to make the rounds to all of his doctors.  So far, so good on the four visits we have had.  His hips and legs are good, no joint problems.  We are experiencing some of the spasticity again but that is to be expected especially since he continues to grow taller.  I asked about a bacoflen pump but it was vetoed-I am secretly glad that he didn’t need it.  We go back for another checkup in 8 months.  We also had his eye doctor.  Talk about traumatic-we have figured out that with his visual impairment that this is the most traumatic doctor visit ever.  He has an extreme fear of anything near his eyes, so the routine eye exam turned into holy terror.  He screamed so much and raised his blood pressure during the exam.  It broke my heart to see him that way but he has to have the checkup.  He is becoming more and more near-sighted as he gets older.  He depends on his hearing instead of his vision.  We were given a prescription for eyeglasses but will not get them.  He doesn’t look at anything unless it is right in his face and it would never keep them on.  He checked out at the peditrician-whoo hoo.  Now we get the joy of the dentist.  Since he has gotten older, he now has to be sedated in order to get a thorough cleaning. The place we take him is really good with him so I am not worried about the visit.

I want to give a kuddos to J-Bo-he passed his first “spelling test”.  The words and a picture are put on small cards and he is asked to choose which is which when asked.  He made a 90 on his first test.  We practiced at home on his homework and are so proud of him.  I treated him to his favorite food-Taco bell.

Also,  I don’t know if you know but J-Bo bowls on a league.  He bowled a 148 this past Thursday. That is the best game ever.

Time to get some dinner started. Talk to you later..
